gkkworks participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego’s annual Table for Tots event

In August gkkworks participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego’s annual Table for Tots event sponsored by GM Business Interiors. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a “home away from home” to families with children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions at local hospitals. The Table for Tots event began in 2009 as a way to partner with San Diego’s design community and raise money for the charity.  Local architecture and design firms, as well as industry professionals, register to receive a child-size set of table and two chairs.  Participants use their creative talents to build the most amazing solutions. These designs are then exhibited and auctioned at the annual Table for Tots event at the Ronald McDonald House. All monies raised at the event is given directly to the Ronald McDonald House.

Students were asked to create a concept for three important spaces, including Major Materials, Light Fixtures and Furniture Selections, which reflected the spirit and vision of their design for the center.
