gkkworks, in association with Don Dommer Associates, provided architectural design and construction management services for this new facility as part of the new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) that will be manned jointly by the Emergency Preparedness Department, Police Department and the Fire Department. The new, 40,000-SF fire station includes offices, dormitory and locker/shower space for a crew of 17, and apparatus bays to accommodate eight firefighting and paramedic vehicles. In addition, the building houses dormitories, lockers and toilet/shower facilities for Fire Department and Emergency Preparedness Department personnel assigned to the EOC during citywide emergencies.
