Vail Mountain School

Vail Mountain School

Vail, Colorado

Vail Mountain School hired gkkworks, to master plan and redevelop its existing campus with the goal of becoming one of the premier independent college preparatory schools in the country. klipp worked closely with school leaders and the community so that the new 90,500 SF facility reflects Vail Mountain School's educational philosophy. Other notable elements include a new artificial turf regulation soccer field, relocation of a historical homestead cabin, and the addition of eight faculty-housing units. The architecture for the Vail Mountain School campus was designed to minimize the building mass against the hillside and to reflect a traditional mountain vernacular by incorporating board and batten siding and a stone base.
