This 31,000 SF middle school brings students together while providing a space for town meetings, liturgies, and performances. Academic classrooms for each grade level are clustered, and offer flexible break-out spaces for group projects and discussion. Teachers are teamed at each grade level and have easy access to each other and their students in these cluster areas. Warmer, non-institutional surroundings, featuring the play of natural light and other singular touches, have been designed around a two-story central commons that is visible from each of the four cluster areas. klipp, a division of gkkworks, provided architectural services for this project.
