Camino Nuevo K-8 Academy

Pacific Charter School Development

Los Angeles, California

This project includes the development of a two-story, 21-classroom and administration building with a multi-purpose room, faculty lounge, and administrative offices, and a two-story, 10-classroom and library building connected by a pedestrian bridge totaling approximately 45,000 SF of floor area. This public charter K-8 school with a maximum enrollment of 656 students features an outdoor playground and recreation area, and a 63-space parking lot on a vacant 103,384-SF site. An existing elementary school, the Camino Nuevo Charter Academy that is currently operating at 635 South Harvard Boulevard, with approximately 465 students in grades K-5, will be re-located to the site. The two school buildings will be modified versions of modular two-story classroom structures that have been pre-approved by the California Division of the State Architect for public school purposes.
