Denver, Colorado

gkkworks acted as architect working closely with Design Force who provided interior design for the project. The buildings classic architecture is renowned for its white-marble façade and towering ionic columns. The structure is registered under the National Park Service and Denver Landmark Commission and is recognized and one of Downtown Denver’s most historic structures. The existing six story building was organized around a three story Great Banking Hall with the level two mezzanine opening onto the great hall. Level two contains the Club Lounge and single loaded guests rooms which front onto the historic hall. Two additional stories were constructed above the existing structure. Level two through level 8 accommodate 221 unique guest rooms. The Great Hall accommodates guest registration, lobby bar and lounge and casual social areas. The central three story Banking Hall walls with marble colonnades were retained and feature 14 large paint murals portraying the life or American Indians on the Plains by local artist Alan Tupper True. The painting went through a complete restoration to bring them back to their original state.
