gkkworks provided Agency CM services for the renovation of the BGS Building, originally constructed in the 1960’s. The project involved extensive mold remediation, repair, and reconstruction of the 85,000 SF, 3-story building. During the life of the building, there had been several water leaks that caused, not only water damage, but an environmental mold problem. All contaminated areas were removed, the exterior widows were removed and replaced, and the exterior grades were revised. Additional elements included a new storm sewer system, removing and replacing all exterior finishes, cleaning the existing HVAC ducts and equipment, repairing and painting the exterior, new landscaping, associated site work and upgrades to the building’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The 3-story building is a mixed use facility with administrative offices and classroom space throughout. All work was completed during regular school hours without disruption to adjacent facilities or the student population.
