Gillette College Student Housing

Gillette, Wyoming

Leta Tanner Village is the first on campus student residences for Gillette College in Gillette, Wyoming. gkkworks worked closely with the College leadership and the City of Gillette to develop the 12.5-acre student housing micro-master plan for the campus as well as the architectural design of the residence buildings.

The residence buildings will be developed in four phases, with each phase to include four buildings and accommodate approximately100 beds. The architecture of the buildings was concieved to have a domestic feel with individual entrances, brick exteriors and slopped roofs but with added durability to withstand heavy campus use. The interiors are based on a suite concept, with 2–7 beds per suite and both active and passive living spaces. Each phase of buildings flank a circular green that is designated as common space and a terrace area for social gatherings.

Phase one of the campus residences have been completed and opened in 2009. Phase One was composed of four structures providing 96 beds. The District structures are linked by an open breeze way system to promote student social interaction.
