gkkworks provided programming and criteria documents for VVC's future One Stop Student Services Building. The new One Stop Student Services Building to be located at the existing Elevator Tower Site at Victor Valley College's Main Campus. This project will consist of a multi-story building sited/terraced on the existing hillside slope providing a transition between the Upper and Lower Campuses.
The design and construction of the site includes a monumental set of stairs from the lower to upper campus, the "Academic Steps". The existing hillside landscaping and irrigation will be updated with drought tolerant, xeriscape landscaping. Architecturally, the new student services building design creates a strong sense of entry, and an iconic, campus gateway. The building is approximately 28,000 square feet housing Matriculation spaces, such as Student Assessment, Admissions & Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, and the Bursar. Also included are College Special Services functions, EOP&S, CalWORKS, DSPS, the Career Center, and the Transfer Center. In addition, other various functions, including Administrative Offices and the Board of Trustees Meeting Room are accommodated in the building.
