The goal of this design-build project was to replace and repair range safety communication systems and facilities damaged during the 2007 California wildfires. gkkworks provided two new prefabricated shelters, upgrading the existing distribution and UPS systems, and running power and HVAC to the new buildings. San Onofre peak is a remote location at Camp Pendleton accessible only via a winding unpaved road. The prefabricated building had to be brought up in 3 parts and some of the turns had to be widened in order to make the turns. This along with a tight space to unload the buildings at the top of the hill made this project very challenging.
