As part of an on-going relationship with Verizon, gkkworks was engaged to provide on-site construction services to the South Central Headquarters and Call Center campus. The project objective was to ensure uptime response to their customer needs and expand/upgrade the systems to meet Verizon’s changing business needs. gkkworks was responsible for the remodeling of approximately 298,000 SF of prime office space in the building’s six floors, to be re-configured to house a new Regional Headquarters, expanded Call Center, and Data Center. Other areas include a training center, Human Resources Department, data sales lab, full-service cafeteria, fitness center; break rooms and new IDF rooms.
The project includes selective demolition, new exterior site work, general interior renovation, temperature and humidity control HVAC systems, installation of a new transformer, electrical switchgear, grease trap, underground utilities including new outside communications cable ducts, UPS, new emergency generator (2.8MW), transfer switches, and the relocation of an existing generator.
