|Colorado Academy Upper School Project featured in the fall issue of Modern in Denver Magazine|
The Denver office of gkkworks was recently featured in the fall issue of Modern in Denver magazine for the Colorado Academy Upper School project completed in January. Brian Klipp was interviewed for the article and our staff was listed in the magazine. Copies of the magazine can be purchased at Whole Foods and Tattered Cover in Denver.
Colorado Academy has been a long-standing client of the firm for over 20 years, and our design team appreciated the opportunity to contribute to another building on the campus. The firm provided programming and architectural design services for a new two-story upper school replacing a smaller building in the same location, while preserving six classrooms on the northeast side of the existing facility. The design team worked closely with the educators and administrators to reinvent these educational spaces for 21st century learning. Project goals included reinventing the previous high school plan and model to foster Colorado Academy’s teaching paradigm, and encouraging both informal and formal learning environments.
