Verizon to Improve Wireless Reliability in Southern California


As the nation's largest provider of wireless service, Verizon knows that to keep those customers, they have to provide reliable service. To that end, the Irvine architecture/construction firm gkkworks has been selected to provide general contracting and construction management services for the uninterruptible power supply project at Verizon's mobile switching center in Azusa, California. As one of several mobile switching centers in Southern California, Verizon goes to great lengths to ensure that service is provided in any circumstance.

gkkworks Wins Major Kern Community College District Modernization Project at Cerro Coso College


The Kern Community College District has selected gkkworks to modernize the Main Building of Cerro Coso College in Ridgecrest. The building includes three floors of student services and administration offices housed in 35,000 square feet. Counseling, health services, financial aid, and the admission offices are also located within the facility.

gkkworks Wins Aviation Survival Training Center Facilities At Marine Corp Air Station at Miramar in San Diego, California


There is nothing fun about being plunged into 55-degree water, while spinning upside down, fully clothed, and expected to exit your "helicopter" breathing with only one portable air tank containing a finite amount of air. The United States Army Corps of Engineers has selected gkkworks to renovate the Aviation Survival Training Center at the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar in San Diego. This unique training center is one of a handful the Corps uses to train air personnel to survive an emergency water landing.

gkkworks Wins Physiology Building Design-Build Renovation at the Marine Corp Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California


IRVINE, California, November 15, 2012–Some of the Navy and Marine Corps' toughest fighter pilots play patty cake when they come to California's Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. It's all part of the testing they participate in at the Huntsville Physiology Building. This unique facility is used to test, evaluate, and train air personnel in high-altitude situations within a hypobaric chamber, and gkkworks gets to renovate the entire facility.
